Here is a really nice old primitive egg carrier, it holds 12 dozen or 144 eggs. 4 rows of 3 DZ to a layer and each egg is sectioned off with cardboard. This is an old hand made piece, I'm sure it took a long time to make. It is made of trimmed down sticks, which were drilled on the ends and a wire ran thru each of the corners, and then the top and bottom were fitted to slide in and out to lock up the box. This one has at some point been "gnawed" on by some critter, a couple of the cardboard base pieces do have holes in them as well as some of the top or bottom slats. It is about 13" x 13" x 12" tall. This is really a very interesting piece.
Thanks for looking
